Robin Hood Dam

Keene, New Hampshire | City of Keene

Framed by a public park and a residential area and carrying a city street, Robin Hood Dam was reclassified by the State of New Hampshire as a high-hazard dam, and its spillway did not have the capacity to meet New Hampshire Dam Safety requirements. The City of Keene engaged D&K to evaluate the dam, develop nine discrete rehabilitation alternatives, and carry the project design development through to the construction phase. D&K designed reinforcement for the auxiliary spillway using articulated concrete blocks (ACBs)—a first-of-its-kind use of this practice on a high-hazard dam in New Hampshire. We also provided bid and construction phase services.
