DuBois & King is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2-5 years (or more) of experience. This is a full-time engineering position with full benefits in our busy and growing Dam Engineering Group. Types of work could include safety inspection, evaluation, planning, design, plan development, technical specification preparation of contract documents, and construction inspection of dam projects. Technical experience in geotechnical/foundations, structural concrete, earth embankments, hydrology & hydraulics and permitting are pluses!
We seek a motivated individual who wants to learn about applicable FERC dam safety design criteria and state/federal regulations. There is an opportunity for professional growth through client interactions and meetings and construction cost estimating. AutoCAD experience is desirable. Interest and ability to obtain a VT or NH PE within 12-18 months preferred.

D&K is seeking a Structures Group Manager with approximately 10 to 15 years (or more) of experience. Responsibilities include project management, project development, planning, business development, client management, and financial performance. As a leader in the Structural division, this position requires strong and proactive communication skills with clients, management, and coworkers. This individual will also provide supervision and mentoring of staff.

The Structures Group Manager must be AutoCAD and REVIT proficient. Work also includes coordination with D&K’s in-house mechanical, electrical, and civil/site engineering staff. Our markets include commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, recreation, and municipal projects within the New England region.

Requirements:

D&K is seeking a civil engineer with 5–15 years of civil and/or aviation engineering, to be based in our rapidly growing aviation division. Minimum position requirements include a current Professional Engineer License (PE) or the ability to obtain within 12 months, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or higher, and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Projects will vary and may include airport planning, infrastructure design such as runways and lighting systems, stormwater and drainage, pavement markings, and site grading. Responsibilities may include engineering-based planning, directing, and monitoring construction phase assignments on a range of airfield projects. The individual may also be responsible to evaluate and analyze existing projects. Working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and/or Unified Facilities Criteria is ideal.  This individual is expected to progress into completing design team leader/project manager duties.

D&K is seeking a civil engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience conducting design and producing engineering drawings for civil and/or aviation-based projects. A minimum 2-year engineering degree in civil engineering technology is required and candidates with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering are also encouraged to apply.

Duties include engineering-based planning, design, and construction phase assignments on a range of airfield projects. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, skilled communicator, and a team player. The position requires proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; preference may be given to applicants with knowledge of ArcGIS and an aptitude with languages such as Java and HTML. The position requires the ability to lead airport improvement design projects from start to finish, including the following design items and tasks:

  • Horizontal and vertical geometry
  • Grading and drainage
  • Erosion and sediment control
  • Pavement
  • Quantity take-offs
  • Preparing plans and specifications
  • Interpreting Federal Aviation Administration and other regulatory design standards

Pearson & Associates, a division of DuBois & King, is seeking mechanical engineers/designers with experience from 0 to 10 years in site, building systems, and/or mechanical infrastructure design. Duties shall include preparation of reports, CADD, and specifications for all types of projects related to site development, buildings, HVAC, and electrical processes and controls. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in mechanical engineering is required and passage of the FE exam is preferred. AutoCAD and/or Revit experience is required.

D&K is seeking a bridge engineer who has experience providing project planning, inspection, design services and the ability to be a project team leader. The position is located in Bedford, New Hampshire, and the firm will consider qualified candidates residing outside of the immediate area. The DuBois & King Bedford Office Bridge Design Engineer is a position that reports directly to the Bridge Lead in the South Burlington Office.

Engineering/technical responsibilities include planning, inspection phase duties, design, and project management, including hands-on involvement for a wide range of bridge engineering-related functions for government and privately-owned bridges. Qualified individuals will demonstrate experience with and will be responsible for leading projects in evaluation, concept, design, bid, and construction phases.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • 6 years of bridge design experience
  • 2 year of bridge design lead experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)

D&K is seeking a Senior Engineer with 10-20 years of experience to lead the growth of the water and wastewater treatment practice areas in the firm’s Public Works Division. The preferred candidate should have experience leading water or wastewater treatment projects in the Northeast from design through construction. Responsibilities include project and client management, supervision and direction of junior staff, and participation in business development activities. The office location is flexible, with opportunities for placement in our offices in Vermont, Maine, or New Hampshire. VT, ME, or NH PE license is required.

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Surveyor looking for opportunities for growth, with 10 to 15 years of experience to work in New Hampshire. The applicant will be responsible for boundary services while, providing leadership to survey teams in support of D&K’s NH, ME, VT, and MA operations. This opportunity includes responsibilities to support engineering projects by completing a variety of field survey procedures including linear topographic survey, boundary surveys, and construction layout; managing projects, taking an active role in client relations, developing proposals, researching land records, and preparing plans. The position provides opportunities for regular participation in business development, staff growth and mentoring, and strategic planning. Specific preferences include 10 to 15 years of relevant experience (though the firm is willing to mentor and train the right individual) and an active LS license with a desire to obtain an LS License in NH, ME, VT, and MA. DuBois & King is seeking a draftsperson/rodman to work in the survey department and assist with field work as well as drafting base plans. Time will be split between the field and office as workload demands. The applicant will be responsible for “field to finish” products, for which the applicant will assist with field data capture, and see the product through to a polished base map. The engineer’s duties include calculations, designs, REVIT drafting and detailing. Must be AutoCAD- and REVIT-proficient and comfortable with other engineering design software. D&K is seeking an engineer with 4-8 years of experience holding a B.S. in Civil Engineering. A current professional engineer license is not required but preferred. Additional requirements include MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D experience; familiarity with providing services to NHDOT and VTrans; ability to mentor and develop staff; excellent oral and written communication skills; and the ability to work within fast-paced, team-oriented workplace. Duties will include completing and checking complex engineering calculations and developing plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway, pedestrian, and bicycle projects.

DuBois & King is seeking to hire Senior Mechanical-HVAC/Plumbing Engineer to work with our existing multidisciplined staff in our South Burlington, VT, office. The position requires a minimum of 8 years of building design experience with a preference in the healthcare market. Professional registration (PE) is required.

The Engineer’s duties include traditional MEP consulting services (client interaction, site visits, calculations, design, specifications, etc.) plus construction administrative duties. AutoCAD-MEP experience is required along with the ability to manage production staff for project deliveries.

D&K is seeking an individual who brings 3-5 years of experience providing Cx and RCx services to a diverse range of clients. A B.S. in mechanical engineering and PE license is required. It is preferred that the individual hold Cx certification. Responsibilities will include typical early-stage development of basis of design documentation through the final testing of MEP systems.  Knowledge of Cx process, standards, and methodology is required. Development into the department’s overall manager is available to the right candidate. Mechanical-HVAC engineering and design responsibilities will occasionally be required.  This position requires AutoCAD-MEP experience; REVIT experience is preferred.
