US 7 Segment 6 Reconstruction

Brandon, Vermont | Town of Brandon

The Town of Brandon needed to efficiently implement a wide range of improvements while minimizing the total duration of disturbance to a vital and distinctive downtown core that sees a high volume of passenger vehicle and heavy truck traffic. This US 7 Segment 6 project—a National Highway Performance Program project—replaced sidewalks, lighting, water, sewer, and stormwater utilities while, in many locations, completing a full-box roadway reconstruction. The project also included the redevelopment of green spaces, signalized intersections, and other elements, and interaction with more than 100 abutters.

At the peak of construction, DuBois & King’s team comprised six full-time resident project representatives observing construction on six concurrently operating construction packages, as well as a resident engineer, an office engineer, a project manager, and additional part-time office engineers. Throughout this four-year project, the D&K team reviewed and processed submittals and change orders and facilitated in-project audits/inspections by the Vermont Agency of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.
