DuBois & King serves as the Airport Engineer for Norwood Memorial Airport. Over successive, consecutive terms, D&K engineers have assisted the Airport with professional services related to funding assistance, environmental considerations, and design for multiple projects including:
Reconstruction of Taxilane ‘B’. Design and construction services for the reconstruction of a 2,600 ft by 35 ft taxilane project. Services included design and as-built surveys, environmental permitting, taxilane design, and construction inspection and administration. Design elements include pavement design with reclaimed pavement, grading and drainage improvements, edge lighting, signage, pavement markings, and the evaluation of aircraft tie-down separation from taxilane to maximize the number of tie-down spaces.
Reconstruction of Runway 10-28 (approx. 450 ft by 75 ft) and Remark Runway 28 with a Displaced Threshold. Project management, design of bituminous concrete pavement, edge lighting, pavement marking, drainage, site grading, and construction management of a runway reconstruction project. Project included survey and geotechnical investigation, pavement geometry, pavement design, stormwater management, site grading, utility modifications, pavement markings, construction phasing, erosion control measures, quantity take offs, and construction estimates.
Other projects include land acquisition in the runway approach and runway protection zone (RPZ), and purchase of snow removal equipment.
