In an effort to manage expanded services and respond to significant growth, Gifford Medical Center required the consolidation of three existing patient registration offices. The restructured space combined general, emergency room, and radiology registration areas and the hospital central switchboard office into one central patient registration area. The renovation better manages patient access/services and facility space requirements.
DuBois & King’s scope of work included complete renovation to the existing HVAC system; new primary, secondary, and task lighting; electrical and data services to the new registration desks; and relocation of the switchboard service area (central telephone, data, CCTV, fire alarm, security, and emergency room after-hours control).
All demolition and new work was designed and coordinated with the owner in order to keep necessary hospital services in force at all times and minimize impacts on patients and employees during the multi-phased construction period. Professional services included:
Mechanical – HVAC modifications, ventilation improvements
Electrical and data services improvements
Lighting improvements
Centralized security and patient access improvements
