Architectural/engineering services for a full condition assessment and evaluation of five buildings on the VA Medical Center Manchester campus. The purpose of the project was to determine the feasibility of the appropriate adaptive reuse of the buildings and risk assessment of continued use of the buildings in their current condition. Assessments included structural integrity; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems; architectural finishes; insulating systems; utility services; hazardous materials; site considerations; and historic considerations.
Final deliverables included a report summarizing current conditions for all systems and their reusability, renovation options and recommendations, suitability for occupancy, accessibility, and energy efficiency considerations. Provided an analysis of renovation costs to bring the existing building to full building code compliance compared to constructing new buildings of comparable size and occupancy.
