Evaluation of manufacturing wastewater pretreatment plant (lagoon) at an ice cream production plant. Conducted preliminary investigation of pretreatment processes and recommended site survey to identify key elevations. Completed existing hydraulic profile of facility, identifying bottlenecks, and recommended changes in piping sizes/slopes and/or changes in equipment elevations to support planned future gravity and pumped flow requirements. Coordinated with WWPP staff to define design parameters including design ratio, production hours, peak hourly flow, maximum average daily flow, and additional information. Prepared basis of design report for all proposed equipment systems including definition of WWTF hydraulics, individual equipment sizing, required piping upgrades, and budget cost estimates for improvements. Recommended additional sampling of waste strength to better characterize loading into the aerated lagoon system. Analyzed performance of pretreatment aerated lagoon system for current and proposed increases in ice cream production.
