Stevens Mill Penstock Inspection

Franklin, New Hampshire | Eagle Creek Renewable Energy

To comply with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations and gain a better understanding of the condition of this asset, Eagle Creek Hydro engaged D&K to inspect this concrete box penstock located on the Winnipesaukee River. Where feasible, D&K’s structural and hydroelectric engineering staff performed a visual observation, rebound hammer measurements, and soundings of the structure’s interior and exterior. The penstock spans 900 feet from the intake to the turbine and passes along a public roadway and under a privately owned parking lot. D&K compared data collected in the field with available design documentation from the client and compiled a report for the FERC addressing findings, including calculations and recommendations.
