Bow, New Hampshire | Town of Bow

Spanning 12 ft across Bela Brook, a hydraulically inadequate metal arch culvert had begun to rust and had a history of scour damage. The Town of Bow chose to replace the structure, which had been replaced on the NHDOT Redlist. Our team designed a structure that increased the crossing’s hydraulic capacity by lengthening the span to the natural bankfull width, which also reduced scour potential. The design resulted in the construction of a 32-ft-span, 10-ft-high precast concrete arch.
