Main Street/VT 116 Resurfacing

Bristol, Vermont | Vermont Agency of Transportation

VT 116/VT 17—with segments known locally as Main Street, East Street, and Stony Hill Road—serves Bristol Village, connecting shops, restaurants, institutions, public places, and homes. Flanked by diagonal parking spaces, sidewalks, and green spaces, VT 116 is the site of much of the village’s identity and carries a high volume of bicycle, pedestrian, and vehicle traffic. Under an on-call contract with VTrans, D&K designed the resurfacing of this Class 1 town highway and, under a separate project for the town, designed sidewalk, lighting, and other streetscape improvements. To reduce costs and improve efficiencies, we worked with VTrans and the town to bid both projects as one construction project.
