Cooper House Net Zero Renovation

Center Strafford, New Hampshire | New Hampshire Army National Guard

D&K provided architectural, MEP, structural, and civil engineering design to renovate a 3,700-SF, two-story administration building using a Net-Zero basis of design and operation. The building is powered by solar PV arrays located on site. The scope included design of a new high-performance envelope, expanded interior space with structural improvements, new MEP systems, and civil upgrades built to Energy Star and “zEPI” compliance” standards. Mechanical design included high-performance recharging energy-recovery ventilation and energy-recovery heat pumps to minimize energy use for the integrated facility, reducing the renewable energy demand to qualify the facility for net zero.
