CCV Montpelier Academic Addition

Montpelier, Vermont | Community College of Vermont

CCV sought to expand its academic facilities by adding a 12,000-SF, two-story space. D&K provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for the new space, including nine classrooms and laboratory and office spaces. Mechanical design included high-efficiency boilers with variable-speed pumps, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat pumps, general and specialty exhaust system requirements, and Direct Digital Controls (DDCs). The new heating and air conditioning systems interfaced with adjoining buildings. Plumbing design improved the primary water service entrance and water conservation fixtures. Electrical design modified the primary power service entrance by refeeding it to the building’s main panel. Our team added high-efficiency lighting and controls and low-wattage LED site lighting, including astronomical control and security lighting, and the expansion of the fire alarm system.
