For a newly envisioned lakeside neighborhood on the edge of Lake Champlain, D&K supported the design of new buildings and the renovation of a historic Burlington College building that once housed an orphanage. Including affordable and high-end living spaces, the community-focused neighborhood comprises Buildings A through Q. 

D&K’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers designed systems for residential apartments with common and commercial spaces on the ground floors, as well as underground parking. The project team designed Buildings D, E, and F (Aurora), which comprises 189 condominium units and underground parking; Building C (Sunset), which includes 120 units and commercial space; and Buildings B and G (The Rise), which consists of 120 units and commercial space, and included the renovation of the former orphanage building. Some buildings included occupant storage and mechanical spaces, elevator machine rooms, and commercial-grade laundry rooms, as well as meeting spaces, pet washing stations, and a bike repair shop.
