Pond Rehabilitation, North Attleboro NFH

North Attleboro, Massachusetts | US Fish and Wildlife Service

The North Attleboro National Fish Hatchery is a pond complex consisting of large rearing ponds supplied and drained by a network of water pipes and valves, which are equipped with concrete water control structures (called kettles) that control the pond water levels, manage the water between ponds, and drain the ponds. The USFWS required selective rehabilitation of eight of the original circa-1950s ponds and decommissioning of three abandoned ponds to meet applicable modern design and construction criteria and equipment. D&K provided geotechnical investigation of the fish-rearing embankments, a topographic survey of the site, engineering designs of the kettle structures, and permit application assistance.
