NH Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF)

Concord, New Hampshire | NH Army National Guard

Used for aircraft access from the tarmac, the existing seven hangar doors were original to the facility (circa 2003), no longer operated efficiently, had tears in the door fabric assemblies, and were troublesome to repair, as the manufacturer was located in Finland. The doors were 33 ft high and ranged in width from 60 ft to 115 ft and required a full replacement, including frames, tracks, and motors. D&K led an engineering and architectural team to provide structural, geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical engineering and develop a single bid package to replace all seven doors. Our team provided a detailed assessment of the building and existing framed openings to design the required structural modifications of the facility’s roof trusses.
