WWTF Natural Gas Use Evaluation

The city wished to evaluate and determine cost-effective measures to reduce on-site natural gas use, receiving partial funding through the VGS Energy Efficiency program. D&K’s project team conducted a site visit to obtain detailed information on existing natural gas use-related processes, HVAC and building envelope materials, equipment, and systems. We reviewed historical natural gas use data through monthly utility bills, operational control parameters, and historical data through on-site control systems, equipment specifications, and efficiency data. D&K investigated how Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) affected system economics and completed a report to document findings, opportunities, and implementation costs.
